Fashionably fit
Amrita Arora’s positive frame of mind has helped her to be both mentally and physically fit, says Leena Mogre
She began her career with modelling, then went on to become a VJ on MTV, before finally signing up for her first movie Kitne Door Kitne Paas with Fardeen Khan. This is Amrita Arora in a nutshell. A part of the glamour brigade from the age of 17, she has carved a niche for herself. So to be fashionably fit, read on..
While she has seen both good and bad days in her career spanning eight years, her expectations now are on her recently released thriller Red which also stars Aftab Shivdasani and Celina Jaitley. She plays a negative character in this film.
But when it comes to fitness, she believes in having a positive frame of mind. "It is important to be mentally fit, only then can you be physically fit," says Arora. Though she is young and beautiful, she does not believe in starving herself. "Thin isn't always beautiful," she affirms.
Although she is particular about exercise and fitness, she has a message to convey, "Staying fit is not necessarily being skinny and being thin does not mean being slim. Young people should not become anorexic, because it is a dangerous disease." She also advises the teenagers to not succumb to any of the fashion fads. "There are times when strong people start eating less because they want to become thin. And this is when their health starts getting affected."
Arora has also been a keen lover of her body and she believes that everyone should be so. "Accept your body, be happy with it and try to make it better. If you are fit then you are bound to have a good body."
While she works hard on her fitness, she has been lucky enough to be blessed with good skin and a nice family background who are very supportive of her.
