Great Looking Skin for Pennies on the Dollar
Beauty is big business. If you turn on your television this evening, you will be hard-pressed not to see a commercial advertising various skin care cleaners, toners and moisturizers. Most of these are relatively costly, especially if you are planning on maintaining a skin care regimen for any period of time. A regular skin care routine is important. In fact, cleansing, toning and moisturizing have been shown to be very beneficial in slowing the progression of aging and preventing skin problems. However, your daily skin care regimen does not have to be complicated nor expensive.
There are many things that you can do to help ensure that your skin looks and feels great. First, good nutrition is essential for healthy skin. A diet lacking in essential vitamins and minerals has been shown to produce dry, flaky or even acne prone skin. Taking a multivitamin with chromium will usually give you all the vitamins you need for proper skin function. However, keep in mind, that vitamins that you take at least twice per day work much more effectively than the one a day versions.
It is equally as important to drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water per day. Adequate water intake is essential to maintaining proper body functions, and the skin is the largest organ in the body.
Essential oils and herbal extracts can be very beneficial to your skin care regimen. These oils and extracts contain thousands of naturally occurring chemical compounds that work together to produce very positive results. Chamomile, for example, is the perfect oil for irritated skin because it contains Chamazulene, an anti-inflammatory substance.
If you are looking for an effective long-term solution to your skin problems, try this easy to make all natural facial scrub. It can effectively replace your commercial cleanser as step one in your daily skin care program. This homemade product not only serves as a gentle cleanser, but it also gently and effectively exfoliates the skin. It is extremely cost effective, all natural and very customizable depending on which essential oil you decide to use. We will use Lavender in this recipe, which happens to be beneficial for any skin type.
Place all of the following ingredients in a blender and blend for a good two minutes or until a smooth paste is obtained. Store in a 6-8oz jar.

2oz Cider vinegar
2oz distilled water
6 drops Lavender essential oil
There is a vast array of essential oils that you could use in the above recipe. Proper skin care is essential to maintain a young, healthy glow. Finding the right skin care products can be a very daunting, time-consuming process. Skin care does not have to be complicated nor expensive. In fact, creating your own skin care can be downright healthier. You control what is in your products and you can make the necessary adjustments to make your product work for you. You can have great looking, healthy skin for pennies on the dollar.
