We will use Lavender in this recipe, which happens to be beneficial for any skin type.

Place all of the following ingredients in a blender and blend for a good two minutes or until a smooth paste is obtained. Store in a 6-8oz jar.

3oz Sweet Almond Oil (Use avocado or wheat germ oil for dry skin; Almond or Sunflower oil for oily skin).

4oz ground almonds

2oz Cider vinegar

2oz distilled water

6 drops Lavender essential oil

There is a vast array of essential oils that you could use in the above recipe. Oils that are suitable for all skin types are clary-sage, lemon, lime, sage, thyme, rosemary, neroli, chamomile, lavender and geranium. Oils especially good for dry skin are chamomile and palma rosa (rose). The best-suited oils for oily skin are chamomile, lavender, clary-sage and thyme.

Proper skin care is essential to maintain a young, healthy glow. Finding the right skin care products can be a very daunting, time-consuming process. Skin care does not have to be complicated nor expensive. In fact, creating your own skin care can be downright healthier.
